    Braeval Distillery is perhaps one of Speyside's hidden gems. It is located in Chapeltown of Glenlivet, Ballindalloch, Banffshire, and is one of the highest distilleries in the whole of Scotland. Originally called Braes of Glenlivet, Braeval Distillery was built in the early Seventies by Seagram's to produce whisky for Chivas Blends.   Alledgedly, Seagram's chose the site because of the quality of the water (Preenie & Kate's Well) Nose: Marzipan, brown sugar, sweet pastries, sweet honey Taste: Pear drops, grapes and banana. But also savoury, spicy notes Finish: Long finish. Salt, pepper, curry. Warming and tongue tingling

    Laphroaig distillery was established in 1815 on the Isle of Islay. It is know for the heavy peat influence.  This sherry oak finish of Laphroaig combines the flavour of the 10 year old Laphroaig with the sweet aromatic flavours from Oloroso sherry casks. The marriage of the casks creates a rich, full bodied flavour with notes of Manuka honey, bacon and maple syrup alongside the classic smoke, seaweed and a hint of salt
